A highlight from my sophomore basketball year was our first playoff game against clarion and getting a steal and layup to get us back into the game. Q&A With Evin Stauffer

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I first got involved with sports mainly because of my family. My older cousins and sister were all heavily involved in many sports. I was always at their games eager to be in the varsity level. My mom was both my basketball and soccer coach at a young age, my dad was my softball coach. They taught me the basics and I only went up from there. I will forever be thankful for them getting me involved in the thing I love doing most.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: My biggest influences in life has to be my parents and sister. They push me to continue to work and get better constantly. From driving me to practices and sitting through games no matter what the weather is, their support never stops. That is what drives me the most. They just make me want to be a better athlete and person overall.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: My favorite high school sports memory is definitely beating ECC to go into the playoffs. It was a cold, rainy, gritty game. Both teams were locked into getting into the playoffs, but we just had a little more determination. My best friend Gracie Archer scored on a header and sealed the deal for us. I’ve never been happier in a sports moment than that.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: My favorite social media platform is VSCO. The reason behind that is because it doesn’t count your likes or comments. No one is famous or popular on it, it’s just a place where you can express yourself and post whatever you feel without getting judged for the number of likes you get.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: Someone meeting me for the first time would be surprised about my humor. It’s not exactly what you would stereotype my humor to be.

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: I can’t choose a time period to go back to in history because I find it all so interesting.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: I will tell my kids that it was one of the hardest things I’ve gone through mentally. It was challenging to go through because I wasn’t able to have much of a social life until it all went down. Not being able to have a normal teenage life was very hard.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: My ideal place to live is in the suburbs. Mainly so I am not right in the city but near all of the stores and other essential things I need.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: Something I wish one of the questions was was “other than sports what is something you love to do?” The answer is I love to spend time with friends and family. Spending time at my lake house with my best friend Lexi.
