Family Members Playing/Played High School/College Sports: Her two oldest sisters were also members of Warren’s District 10 5A championship team, which was coached by her mom, Lisa—who played collegiately at Penn State – Behrend.

2020-21 Highlights: D10 champion; went 22-4; averaged 14.7 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 4.1 apg, 2.5 spg; Was named the 2021 D9and10Spors.com District 10 Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year powered by All American Awards & Engraving; Scored 1,000th career point; second-team all-state;  first-team Erie Times-News District 10 Big School; Region Co-Player of the Year; Sank three free throws with no time on the clock and her team down two to win the D10 Class 5A title, 40-39, over Slippery Rock.
College Athletics plan if applicable: Yes I plan on playing basketball. I am still in the process of deciding and getting recruited but I hold a full scholarship offer from Alderson Broaddus

            

Q&A With Emma Ruhlman

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: My mom has been the girls’ basketball coach for 14 years at Warren High School and I’ve been around the game my whole life. I fell in love with it from the start

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: My mom. She pushes me so much and I want to make her proud.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: The three free throws to win D10 championship and getting stormed by my teammates and beating Villa Maria my freshman year

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: Twitter! I do a lot of talking to coaches and basketball-related stuff on there

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: I used to play softball

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: When MJ (Michael Jordan) was in his prime in the NBA so I could watch him live

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: It was a really hard time to get through but basketball honestly got me through it ( the zoom sessions for little kids)

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: Suburb! I want to be near a city but not downtown.
