Q&A With Bailee Verdill

D9and10Sports: How did you first get involved in sports and did you like it?
A: I started playing soccer when I was 6 years old on the CRV Striker team. I have always loved playing soccer.

D9and10Sports: Who has been your biggest influence in life and why?
A: Coach Thomas Hummel has been the biggest influence in my life. He was my first Stiker’s coach. He was also a college student at Clarion and the assistant soccer coach to Sean Esterhuizen at the same time. His knowledge of soccer and his ability to coach me/us was/is beyond measure. He made me learn soccer and have fun at the same time. He has continued to be a good person and a great influence in my life.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite high school sports memory?
A: My favorite soccer memory is scoring the game winning goal against Kane to get us into the playoffs.

D9and10Sports: What is your favorite social media platform and why?
A: My favorite social media platform is Snapchat because I can talk to my friends. I also like playing Rocket League with my friends.

D9and10Sports: What would someone who is meeting you for the first time be surprised to find out about you?
A: I think someone that is meeting me for the first time would be surprised at how quiet I am and how funny I am at the same time. I also think they would be surprised that I am a pretty humble person… I don’t like being the center of attention.

D9and10Sports: If there was one period in history you could go back to, what would it be and why?
A: I would not want to go back in time. I like it now because of the level of technology. I don’t think I would like to live without it.

D9and10Sports: What will you tell your kids someday about living through the COVID-19 pandemic?
A: I don’t want to talk about COVID or have to worry about it ever again.

D9and10Sports: What is your ideal place to live? Country, City, Suburb and why?
A: I enjoy living in the country where it’s quiet and we don’t have neighbors. I don’t think that will change.

D9and10Sports: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the answer?
A: One thing I would like to add is that I would like to see more local soccer coverage in our local media outlets. Soccer always seems to get pushed aside or not covered at all and I think that needs to change.
