WARREN, Pa. – The 2021-22 D9and10Sports.com District 10 preseason All-District girls’ basketball team powered by Hunter’s Station Golf Club features a strong core of upperclassmen who helped lead their teams to district titles last season.

The team is headlined by 2021 D9and10Sports District 10 Player of the Year powered by All American Awards & Engraving Announced Emma Ruhlman of Warren.

Ruhlman helped lead Warren to a District 10 Class 5A title last season, sinking three free throws with no time left on the clock to beat Slippery Rock. The 1,000-point career scorer averaged 14.7 ppg., 10.0 rpg. as well as 4.1 apg. and 2.5 spg. while also shooting 35% from 3-point range and 85% from the free-throw line.

Ruhlman, who will play collegiately at Hillsdale, is joined on the team by four other seniors, including her Warren teammate, Riley Childress, Kennedy Catholic’s Bellah DiNardo, Cambridge Springs’ Maddie Yanc, and Villa Maria’s Carissa Dunham. Fairview’s Hope Garrity is the only non-senior on the team.

Childress, who needs 16 points to reach 1,000 for her career, was a second-team All-District 10 selection last year, averaging 14.0 ppg and is committed to Roberts Wesleyan.

DiNardo, meanwhile, averaged 16.0 ppg. as a junior in helping lead the Golden Eagles to the D10 1A crown. She will play collegiately at Alderson Broaddus.

Yanc averaged 17.3 ppg. a year ago in helping Cambridge Springs to the D10 2A title. She is committed to Edinboro.

Dunham was one of the driving forces behind Villa’s run to the PIAA finals last season, averaging 9.9 ppg. She is committed to Division I Mount St. Mary’s.

Garrity was the leading scorer (13.0 ppg.) on a Fairview team that captured the D10 3A championship, the first in program history.

Along with Ruhlman, DiNardo, Yanc and Garrity were all first-team honorees last season while Dunham was second-team.
