Keys to the season: Our program has always prided itself on tough defense. Last year we got away from that gritty defense and we have been working hard to get that back. This team has always been a bunch of blue-collar, hard workers and we need to emulate that this year more than ever. We also need to come together as a team and find our roles and accept them.  One thing we live by is; accept the role you have and work for the role you want.  Emma, Riley, Teagan and Kelsey need to work together to be great leaders for this team and we know they have the tools to do it. This team is already so close and enjoy being around each other.  Great young ladies that come from great families!

Things your team is doing during the COVID-19 pause of winter sports: We know how hard-working this team is and how hungry they are to not skip a beat while shutdown. They have some big time goals and their leaders laid out a plan for everyone the day after shutdown.

  • The upperclassmen each have ‘virtual’ workout buddies. They check-in on each other multiple times a week and they have ‘A Day’ and ‘B Day’ workouts. Their workouts consist of stretching, cardio, agility, body weight circuits, ball-handling and shooting when they get to an outdoor court.
  • They also have been adding to their basketball journal each day with quotes and writing.
  • We also have been adding to our journals with our film sessions! We always say to them: Film doesn’t lie! So we are learning a lot through film study.
  • We catch up via Zoom a couple times a week, just to see how the crew is doing. We also will talk about our film studies.
We plan to pick-up right where we left off after practice #16 on December 9th. We know that these young ladies will be ready to go mentally and physically, since they are holding each other accountable during this period. They are putting in the work now for each other and they will be ready to go!
