Top players lost: Emily Huff (3.4 ppg)

Key newcomers: McKenna Martin (Didn’t play basketball last season but is out for the team this year and is perhaps the most athletic player on the court)

Keys to the season: There are no seniors nor freshmen on the team but six juniors and eight sophomores. Of the six juniors, four of them have played varsity off and on the last two years and the other two got some playing time last year. So, we have some experience and knowledge on what it takes to win basketball games in the KSAC. I also have three sophomores who will figure in on playing time at the varsity level as well, and I should have a nine-player rotation. Any of the nine could start for us. With the experience we have, we hope to play a more uptempo game on both ends of the court. The emphasis is on the defensive end. Our goal is to the best defensive team on the court. Defense leads to offense. Offensively, we run a motion offense and want to push the ball up the court.

Things your team was doing during the COVID-19 pause of winter sports: We have been conducting zoom meetings during the lay-off and the girls have been doing cardio workouts as well as ball handling drills on a daily basis.
